We are extremely proud to have devised a new brand identity for a property development that will help redefine one of the most recognisable skylines in the world.

The new identity for St James Quarter, Edinburgh, a retail site acquired by Henderson Global Investors, set for redevelopment until 2014, was evolved over several weeks by the Zebra Crossing team, lead by Luke Hammersley and including work by designers Rory Seaford and Chris Trotman.

The identity has been rolled into a variety of literature for use with planning applications, consultation processes, press activity and corporate stationary alongside a new content managed website (using Drupal) designed and built by the Zebra Crossing Digital team. See: www.stjamesquarter.info.

Zebra Crossing were appointed by Henderson’s PR & communications agency Halogen.

Commissioned by Philips’ agency DDB London, Zebra Crossing has for the past few months been busy localising global sites for two of Philips’ new consumer products, SalonStraightSonic and Wake-up Light.

We’ve been handling the intricate process of making sure sites in a plethora of languages and countries look good and work as they should. Dealing with copy in many languages and producing local site variations, we’ve worked closely with TribalDDB and the Philips web team to ensure that all code runs faultlessly in a number of different environments.

Also, our Flex and Flash teams have worked on outdoor animations for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, while our designers and developers have built local promotions and data-capture microsites for several countries.

The content managed site, built on dotnetnuke features interactive floor plans (flash fed by xml updates from the cms), rotating ad spots and a news & events section.
The Chartered Institute of Housing Conference & Exhibition is one of the biggest events of the year for people involved in the development of affordable housing in the UK. Held over 3 days in Harrogate each June, the event is preceded for attendees by the delivery of a series of magazines containing thought leadership, industry news articles and advertising. Zebra Crossing rebranded the event, created 2 magazines, the main event guide, a range of editorial and advertorial content for use in third party publications and three stages of direct mail. It was a busy time!

In addition to this we worked with Foxland, one of our partner agencies, to develop a content managed website that had a range of interactive features including a booking system, automated conference planner and video footage.

We are pleased to announce that the new Dyslexia Teaching Centre website is now live. The site is built on a WordPress Content Management System which allows the staff to update the site with latest news, events and publications relevant to the dyslexia community in London. The iste offers a new communication hub for people connected with the centre and we are delighted to have worked with the wonderful team at the DTC. We wish them success with the site and all the work they do. Thanks also go to our good friends and partners at Foxland with whom we developed the site.

The recent completion of brand development work, a series of detailed print documents and a web site for the Upper Lee Valley regeneration project saw the programme launched at an event at BAFTA this week. Being managed by the North London Strategic Alliance (a government quango) we delivered the work in partnership with Halogen the NLSA’s appointed communications agency.

The Upper Lee Valley stretches six miles from the Olympic fringes through Tottenham Hale up to the M25 – all within the Government’s ‘London-Stansted-Cambridge-Peterborough’ growth corridor and is set to be one of the most high profile development areas in Europe in the next 10 years.

It is always exciting to be involved in the development of a new brand, but this feels especially significant given the importance of the area in the Capital city, so close the 2012 Olympic site. We kicked off with a workshop to understand the core values, aspirations and responsibilities of the new Upper Lee Valley brand, which led us onto the development of the literature and digital media.

See more in the design section.

This week saw the launch of the CIH Conference and Housing Exhibition site we created for the Chartered Institute of Housing and their event organisers, Ocean Media Group. The event – taking place in Harrogate this June – boasts a strong line-up of speakers, including Rt. Hon. Michael Portillo, Diane Abbott MP, David Smith – Economics Editor of the Sunday Times and leading US Economist David Shepherdson.
The CIH is the professional body for people working in housing across the UK and its conference and exhibition is the UK’s ultimate housing event. With Gordon Brown announcing an £8bn investment in housing in his first spending review, the conference will look at how the sector can deliver the government’s objective of decent and affordable housing for all.
Working closely with our partners at FoxLand, the site was built using WordPress and includes online booking functionality. More exciting functionality will be added to the site as the event draws closer – so watch this space!

Zebra Crossing have developed a new web presence for Fortismere School, a large comprehensive in North London. The site, which takes their sixth form prospectus online is coded using PHP, CSS and Flash, and includes video and photography commissioned for the project. The site was designed, built and is hosted by Zebra Crossing and replacing the school’s previous expenditure on print versions, will see savings of some £20,000 over the next two years, with a nice environmental saving as well.
