We are looking for a good PM… to start immediately!

We are looking for a project manager to help on-board a large piece of international business. Must have strong core PM skills (obviously) but also have worked on business transformation / new bus integration type projects, ideally in the advertising or creative production sector. Need to be fun and up for beers with the team here and there as well as the challenge!

The role will be client and supplier facing, working into a Prog Director, Tech Director and Head of TV production. The programme is in the TV advertising sector, with a tier 1 global client and will see the PM initially facilitate the roll-out phase across a 3-4 month period, with a possible permanent account role for the right candidate. Project work streams being rolled out include:

Processes mapping
Embed new processes / ways of working
System launch and training
Metrics / SLA tracking
On-going resourcing of the team

The work will be rolled out across 7 international markets in phase 1 with a further 13 coming online across the next 12 months.

Please emailjobs@zebra-crossing.co.uk if you are interested or know someone who might be.

It’s called Film Noir, baby.

Our esteemed and talented art director, Chris Trotman, is not a big fan of 24, 25 or even 30 frames per second. His considerable skills lie in capturing just a single frame – one perfect moment of harmony and accord, pleasing to the eye and warming to the cockles. Until now.
To promote the launch of an upcoming exhibition entitled ‘Film Noir’ , Chris has created an image of the famous profile of Alfred Hitchcock solely using the titles of his films – and animated it. It’s awesome, and it can be seen right here!

Calling all Producers / Assistant Producers!

Here at Zebra Crossing we are looking to increase our team of post-production and adaptation producers. We are involved in practically every aspect of multi-platform content production and post-production, and we need more producers. We are looking at all levels, from juniors willing to work hard and climb a steep learning curve, through to producers with several years of experience under their belt.

Most importantly is a love for post-production and an eagerness to learn, engage and be a part of the close-knit Zebra team.

Please send CV’s and a covering letter explaining why you want to be a part of our dazzle to

First post of 2013!

I know, its January 25th – but Happy New Year anyway. We have had a very busy start to the year, working with some terrific folk across loads of brands already, including Konami, Tourism Australia and Hasbro, to name but a few. Everyone at Zebra is looking forward to the coming year, our hooves pawing at the dust and our black and white striped flanks twitching in readiness. There will be lots of cool stuff and lots of news, so keep ‘em peeled.

Zebra brings the heat for Lynx Golf

We have just put the finishing touches to a new TV commercial for Lynx Golf – of which we are very proud Zebras indeed. The ad is for the new ‘Boom-Boom 2′ driver – an awesome new club that uses science to make you better at golf. The ad was also featured in ‘Campaign’. Zebra worked alongside Lynx’ agency Gutenberg Networks throughout the production.

Nev Pitty-Rose wrote it, Chris Trotman art directed it, Nicola Martin produced it, Camilla Stoppani managed the whole account, Joel Anderson shot it, Nic Franklin and Marc Dymond directed it, Carlo Taranto cut it…etc. The ad has the hoof marks of nearly every Zebra on it, and can be seen here:

New Hire Increases Zebra Offering

Our dazzle has recently increased by one.

We are proud to announce that Nuno Costa has joined us as an editor and motion graphics operator.

Having qualified with a degree in Computer Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, Nuno spent five years as a software programmer in his native Portugal.

Tired of making things for other people, Nuno completed a course at the extremely prestigious Centre for Education and Animation in Denmark before embarking on a full-time MA in Animation at the Royal College of Art in London.

After successfully completing the MA, he began his career as an animator and animation director.

Now a successful artist in his own right, Nuno will be complementing our roster of editor and vfx operators, and helping us move forward with Zebra’s animation aspirations.

MGEITF

We have just returned from an excellent trip to sunny Scotland to the MGEITF, the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival. In between rubbing shoulders with the cream of the UK television production crop, one of our number, Nev Pitty-Rose, was shortlisted to pitch the idea for his sitcom script ‘Table 10′  in front of a panel of top telly executives, including Elaine Bedell of ITV,  Zai Bennett and Emma Tennant, Controllers of BBC3 and UKTV respectively.  The pitch event was hosted by Richard Bacon and went very well indeed, with interest in the project from both the BBC and ITV. More news soon.
Away from the pitch, Zebras Nic, Nicola, Mark and Nev attended numerous seminars, networking events as well as masterclasses from the makers of ‘Sherlock’ and ‘A Touch of Cloth’ and met loads of fascinating new people in the television industry.  MGEITF was a real success and has opened our eyes to a whole plethora of new opportunities.  Watch this space…!

Occasionally We Allow Our Editors To Do Their Own Thing.

And here’s the sort of thing they get up to. In his own words, Carlo Taranto. “The Expressive Heads is a ‘Sync Art’ project focused mainly on breathing life into a set of very simple characters. This was achieved by utilising the only 2 expressive features available: eyes and mouth, with the head turn being the only form of body language.  For the most part, however, I let the tune dictate the picture.”

How to Shoot a Dog.

When we filmed our ‘Milwaukee’ power tools brand ad, we shot on the Arri Phantom at 2000 fps. The results were stunning (and can be seen here – http://tiny.cc/fp1wgw). Another example of the Phantoms overall awesomeness is this ad from Poke for Diesel Sunglasses, featuring a host of shaggy lovelies, lit and art directed like a high-end fashion shoot. The effect is incredible, the movement of each mutt captured in perfect slo-mo. Really lovely work: http://tiny.cc/6s5wgw

Go Zebra spotting in Cannes

Two Zebras are loose in Cannes this week – Luke and Nic are both heading out to the annual Festival of Creativity to rub shoulders with all the other creative animals in production and post-production. Look out for them on the Croisette…
